Valentine Antique Gallery - Amberina
Amberina glass was first patented in the United States in 1883. It is a heat sensitive glass with shades of red at the top and amber at the bottom caused by reheating the top of the glass before it is allowed to cool. If the process is reversed and the bottom is reheated before cooling, it is called "reverse amberina". Amberina glass was used to make art glass and pressed glass pieces.
